Jane Pulman's dissertation research focused on the elucidation of Daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) genes that are involved in the production of galanthamine, a compound that is used to treat Alzheimer’s disease. The work involved RNA-Seq analysis, SNP discovery, analysis of alkaloid biochemistry and wet lab validation of SNP and transcript level differences.
